You Are My Sunshine (our magical moon and sun connections)
Have you ever looked up how many quotes or slogans have to do with the moon and love? Why is this a thing? It could have something to do with the Destiny Cards. The moon plays a very important role within the Cards, especially when it comes to love and intimacy.
So, what does the moon signify when it comes to our yearly charts and personal relationships? In the Destiny Cards, the moon is represented as something or someone that is very nurturing to us. It could be a person, energy, action, or situation that we enjoy, that soothes us, that brings us comfort and nourishment. For example if your Moon Card is the Five of Hearts, you might enjoy traveling a lot, moving often, and a variety of romance and friends in constant flux. If you were to ever meet a Five of Hearts person, you would feel very comforted in their presence, their grounding energy would be soothing to your soul. It feels like your favorite blanket, an emotional safe haven from the storms of life. This person takes care of you when you are together, making sure your needs are met. This can feel like an instant magnetic connection, a sense of familiarity and physical closeness between two people right away. The Moon and Sun connections make for a strong compatible relationship, good communication and conversation combined with ease of beingness together. Marriage compatible.
As they are your Moon Card, you are their “Sun” Card. As the Sun Card and the brightest star in the sky, you give direction to the relationship. You are the master and commander of the relationship; as the Sun you decide where to go in life and the Moon comes along for the ride. This is a special type of relationship and is considered the number one connection for marriage because of its closeness and intimacy. It is the divine masculine (Sun) and divine feminine (moon) principles of yin and yang. Ideally this implies that the Moon person is female and the Sun person is male. Very successful relationships can occur if the roles are reversed, however each person must be willing to follow the rules of engagement.
However, if the two people are not willing to play their destined roles, then the relationship will probably fall apart. I knew someone who was in a Moon / Sun situation with the King of Spades being the Moon Card to the Ace of Hearts person. This is a past-life connection that gave even further depth to the relationship connections. However, in this situation, the “King” was not willing to submit his leadership as the Moon Card to the other person who was the Sun Card. Unfortunately, we can’t bargain or demand that something in the realms be changed due to our personal whims. The relationship connections between the Cards are fixed; they are unchanging, immovable forces of law dictated by the planets themselves. So of course, that was that. If we do not fulfill the roles that govern our relationship connections the relationship will dissolve. And dissolve it did.
The Moon Card connection is beneficial on many levels. It can make for close long-lasting friendships, as long as each person plays their role. In situations where a son is Moon Card to his mother, we might use the term “mama’s boy”. In our yearly chart readings, our Moon Card changes every year, thus we can sometimes find that our friends and family could be a source of comfort and support for that year. Moon Card connections are just one of the many blessings that make for more intimate supportive relationships and a happier life.
